Missouri woman arrested after high-speed crashes and hit-and-runs across Centre County

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A woman from Missouri was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly leading a dangerous trail of hit-and-runs and crashes that ended with vehicles slammed into buildings and her attempt to flee the scene on foot, according to Spring Township Police.

Officers were dispatched just after 2 p.m. July 8 to the 100 block of West College Avenue for a multi-vehicle incident involving damage to multiple structures. On the way, they received reports of similar hit-and-run crashes stretching from Zion to Pleasant Gap. The same vehicle, a gray Mazda sedan with Missouri plates, was identified in all of the incidents.

According to police, Centre County Sheriff’s deputies arrived first and detained a woman seen trying to flee. Spring Township officers later identified the driver as Trista Lawson of St. Louis, Missouri.

Investigators said Lawson had been speeding through the area at more than 100 miles per hour when she struck multiple vehicles and structures. Police said she told them she was listening to the voice of God during the spree…
