Stray bullet injures child at Metro East apartment

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. (First Alert 4) – A child was injured when shots were fired at an apartment building in the Metro East.

According to the Cahokia Heights Police Department, officers were called to the Graystone Apartments around 6 p.m. on Monday for shots fired. When they arrived, officers saw several bullet holes that went through the side of an apartment.

A 12-year-old was found to have been grazed by a bullet. The child was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
