Victim identified in St. Louis gas station fatal shooting; suspect faces jury trial

ST. LOUIS – Homicide investigators have identified a shooting victim who died months after being shot at a south St. Louis gas station earlier this year.

The shooting happened shortly before 8:50 a.m. on Jan. 13, at the corner of South Broadway and Osceola Street, in the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers arrived to find the victim, Vernell Walker, suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot outside the Conoco gas station…
