Wife charged after Oklahoma man brought dead dogs to St. Louis Crematorium

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The wife of a man who is facing a slew of animal abuse charges is now also accused of abusing animals.

Jessica Peters is charged with five counts of animal abuse by torture and 13 counts of animal abuse in the City of St. Louis. Her husband, Robert Peters, was charged earlier this month with nine counts of animal abuse by torture, a class E felony, and seven counts of animal abuse, a class A misdemeanor.

According to charging documents, officers received a call on July 11 from a local crematorium stating a man had brought four dogs to be cremated. An employee of the crematorium told officers it wasn’t unusual for people to request their dogs be cremated, but it was unusual for someone to bring in four at once…
