Health officials warn of dangers to people and pets as heat wave begins

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – In neighborhoods like Fountain Park, a break in the shade and access to cold drinks provides a small relief for families still dealing with tornado damage.

Fountain Park was one of the worst-hit neighborhoods following the May 16 tornado. Keith Jackson and his family, who lived near the park, have been moving from hotel to hotel as they find permanent housing. Jackson, his wife and four kids stopped by the resource center tents to pick up cold water and snacks.

Jackson said the heat would add to the long list of problems he and others face this week…
