ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A man and a woman are in custody for stealing more than $4,000 worth of cigarettes from a liquor store in West Alton.
The burglary occurred on July 18 at a Dirt Cheap in the 13000 block of Highway 67. Police said a man and a woman shattered a window and stole liquor and cigarettes valued at $4,213.48. The damage to the window was estimated at $1,300.
Video surveillance from Dirt Cheap showed the burglars arriving in a black Mercedes-Benz with a Texas license plate. Police said that the license plate on the vehicle was outdated and not issued by the state of Texas since 2011, adding that plates like that are sold online for collection or decorative purposes…
