Man federally convicted of pointing laser at Metro Air Support helicopter

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A man has been federally convicted after pointing a laser at the pilots of a Metro Air Support police helicopter and blinding them.

According to a release, Joshua Johnson, 44, was convicted of knowingly aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft.

On August 9, shortly before 9:45 p.m., Johnson pointed a blue laser at a marked Metro Air Support helicopter while it was flying over the Benton Park neighborhood in St. Louis to support other officers…
