Police SUV strikes carjacking suspect fleeing on foot

ST. LOUIS – A teen carjacking suspect was taken to the hospital after being struck by a police SUV in south St. Louis Tuesday afternoon.

According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the city’s Real-Time Crime Center alerted officers to a carjacked vehicle in the Bevo neighborhood.

Minutes later, police spotted the car in the Gravois Park area. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but police said the driver attempted to speed away.
