There’s a renewed focus on violent crime that’s being directed at East St. Louis by the Illinois State Police as they’ve just completed another two-night sweep of the region which has resulted in several brand new felony charges.
The Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police just shared the results of a crime crackdown that was just completed on July 29 and July 30, 2025. The hope is that these operations will help reduce the incidents of violent crime in that part of the metro area across the river from St. Louis. Here are the numbers they shared from those two nights.
