ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A St. Louis-area government watchdog group is calling for a formal investigation into the Francis Howell School District after it paid nearly $230,000 to a superintendent who never worked a single day.
In a letter submitted Friday, the Holy Joe Society, a nonprofit civic organization that advocates for lawful and transparent local government, urged Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick and Attorney General Andrew Bailey to investigate the $229,166.67 severance payout to newly hired Superintendent Mike Dominguez, as well as a $3,000 payment to a consultant the group claims may not have had a valid contract.
“Public reports relate that the Board of Education approved a separation agreement calling for the district to pay 11 months’ salary to one Mike Dominguez for reasons that have not been made public,” the letter reads…
