Family buries son after jail death as concern grows that city could bury evidence

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The funeral for Samuel Hayes Jr. was held Thursday, just over a month after his death while in custody at the St. Louis City Justice Center.

Hayes, 31, was placed in a restraint chair after a fight with another detainee. He was later found unresponsive and pronounced dead July 19.

Sources told First Alert 4 he was found dead after being left in the chair for about 90 minutes…
