Florissant family to lose home after atomic bomb waste found beneath properties

FLORISSANT, Mo. — Six families living side by side in a St. Louis County subdivision are being forced to permanently move.

It all began when nuclear waste from the production of the atomic bomb in St. Louis was dumped in multiple sites. The material wasn’t covered properly and the material was exposed to wind and rain. This material eventually made its way to the nearby Coldwater Creek.
