Timeline leading up to Mackenzi Felmlee’s death released by Illinois DCFS

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. — Two days before foster teen Mackenzi Felmlee died gasping at the bottom of a staircase, the foster mother who would later be charged with her murder told a caseworker that Felmlee had been “struggling.”

It was purportedly during a home visit, according to what Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois, the agency handling her case, said after the Fairview Height’s teen’s death.

But it was actually over the phone, according to newly-released documents from the Illinois Department of Children and Family services…
