Police searching for man who shot at officers in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — A suspect is at large after allegedly firing at officers during a chase early Thursday morning in north St. Louis.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Mitch McCoy said two District 5 officers were conducting a pedestrian check at about 1 a.m. Thursday near Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Hodiamont Avenue after possibly observing a drug deal.

The man ran from the officers and shot a gun at them during a chase before managing to get away, McCoy said. No officers were injured, and they did not return fire at the suspect…
