A St. Louis man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for a mortgage fraud scheme that involved more than $1.2 million in fraudulent loans.
U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey on Monday sentenced Edward James Mitchell Jr., 37, who legally changed his name in October 2023 to Musa Muhammad. Judge Autrey also ordered Mitchell to repay $482,096 to lenders for the losses caused by his actions.
