A St. Louis man has been sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison after being held responsible for supplying fentanyl that caused a fatal overdose in 2024.
U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp on Wednesday sentenced 31-year-old Alantae Garner to 157 months in prison. Garner pleaded guilty in June to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Court documents state that on Nov. 17, 2023, St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers found Garner in the driver’s seat of a stolen 2019 Kia Rio. When officers approached, Garner attempted to walk away, then ran before being detained. A loaded Taurus 9mm handgun was found in his bag, which he admitted owning.
