Barnes-Jewish Hospital opens $900 million, state-of-the-art patient care facility

ST. LOUIS — Barnes-Jewish Hospital has taken patient care to the next level with the opening of its new state-of-the-art Plaza West Tower.

A key component is the expansion of critical care bed space for patients awaiting or recovering from advanced treatments. The new tower will decrease the wait times for those to receive heart transplants, valve repairs or replacements and minimally invasive procedures.

“We have patients that are waiting in the region every day to come to Barnes-Jewish hospital and to see our Washington University medicine physicians and we expect that this new capacity will allow us to serve those patients faster,” said John Lynch, president of Barnes Jewish Hospital…
