Goats clean up Carondelet Park one bite at a time

ST. LOUIS – A crew of goats from local company “Just Us Goats” are working around the clock at the Bird Sanctuary in Carondelet Park, eating all the overgrown, harmful and invasive plant species as a part of a revitalization project.

Owner of “Just Us Goats” Robert Rusan told FOX 2 they are out there day and night, with plenty of fresh water and, of course, food.

Hannah Ehrlich, the project coordinator and local non-profit Friends of Carondelet Park Board Member, says this is just the first step in their plans to renew the area.

“We want to make this a space that birds love,” Ehrlich said. “But also that people can interact with nature in. And it had come to the point where people couldn’t be in this space very comfortably or safely.  So we want it to be a place where both of those things can exist.”…
