String of car break-ins leaves STL residents frustrated

ST. LOUIS – It’s an issue St. Louis residents say has become far too common: car break-ins. On Saturday, a teen was shot-and-killed in south St. Louis after police say he pulled a gun on a resident who confronted him for breaking-into cars there.

On Sunday, residents who live near The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis shared videos that appear to show more teens attempting to break-into cars there. Another neighbor who lives nearby shared similar photos and videos of attempted car break-ins from over the summer.

The incidents have some people wondering: legally, what can you do if you catch someone in the act of breaking-into your car?…
