ST. LOUIS — A 23-year-old man was sentenced to 17 years in prison after taking a plea deal in a 2023 murder.
Joshua Conley, 23, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Quentin Berry in 2023. Conley was set to go to trial for first-degree murder, but agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal.
On Sept. 22, St. Louis police’s Homicide Division was requested to investigate a fatal shooting in south St. Louis. Police said the shooting happened just before 5:30 p.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Keokuk Street in the Marine Villa neighborhood.
