ST. LOUIS — Family and friends of Trinity Staten continue to mourn and remember the 29-year-old woman from Normandy who was shot and killed Tuesday morning while riding in a Lyft in north St. Louis. Now, their attention is focused on finding the Lyft driver who heroically rushed her to the hospital in an attempt to save her life.
Prosecutors charged Staten’s boyfriend, 31-year-old Jeremie Northcross, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Staten’s mother, Dominique Staten, described seeing her daughter at the morgue with heartbreak and gratitude. “My baby looked beautiful. Like she was sleeping… but I’d rather have her here with me. This man crushed my life. He took a piece of my puzzle. I will never be the same,” she said.
