A man is in critical but stable condition after being shot, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported. The 46-year-old victim was dropped off at Barnes Hospital on October 15, with a gunshot wound to the chest, prompting an investigation into the shooting by District 5 officers.

After receiving the call at approximately 8:40 p.m., police were unable to get a detailed account from the man due to his medical state, according to the official police report. The man did indicate that the shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Utah, but a subsequent search by District 3 officers found no evidence of the incident at that location.
