St. Louis sheriff’s ex-employee sues over firing after cooperating with state investigation

ST. LOUIS — The personnel and fiscal operations director for St. Louis Sheriff Alfred Montgomery says in a new lawsuit that she was fired after cooperating in the state’s investigation of Montgomery.

The litigation comes as Montgomery was ordered to jail over charges related to witness tampering. The Missouri attorney general is seeking to remove Montgomery via a quo warranto petition, amid other claims of wrongdoing.
