Nursing home workers awarded $2M following abrupt closure, missed paychecks

ST. LOUIS – Two years ago, a north St. Louis nursing home abruptly closed its doors, forcing more than 170 patients to be relocated and leaving its nearly 200 workers unpaid and scrambling to help those residents move out.

Now, those workers are being compensated for the chaotic exit and missed funds.

The closure of the Northview Village Nursing Home on Dec. 15, 2023, has been described as chaotic. The shuttered facility, located at the corner of North Kingshighway Boulevard and Highland Avenue in north St. Louis, now sits vacant.
