Two toddlers shot in north St. Louis in less than 24 hours; parents arrested in one case

ST. LOUIS — Two toddlers, just 1 and 3 years old, were shot in north St. Louis about 18 hours apart. Police say both shootings could have been prevented, and community leaders are calling for urgent action.

The first shooting happened on Clara Avenue around 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood, outside the Phillips 66 gas station on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, directly across from the Arlington Grove Apartments.
