Man sentenced for killing Dollar General clerk in 2018

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man appeared in St. Louis Circuit Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a store clerk during an armed robbery in 2018.

Derrick T. Adams, 31, admitted killing Robert Woods, on Nov. 1, 2018, at the Dollar General in the 4000 block of North Grand Boulevard.

Victim’s family alleges doctors failed to warn of CVPA shooter’s threats

At the time, police said a man with sunglasses and a hoodie entered the store, announced a robbery, and began shooting randomly. Woods was struck by gunfire and died at the scene. He was 42.

Adams was arrested on Dec. 27, 2023. Investigators said they didn’t think Woods was targeted…
