ST. LOUIS — Sean Grayson, the former police officer who shot and killed Sonya Massey in her kitchen last year was found guilty of second-degree murder in her death, but her family, friends and attorneys are not pleased with the verdict.
The family railed against the finding of second-degree murder, which likely calls for a 20-year prison sentence, instead of first-degree murder, which would likely mean 45 years to life in prison.
“There’s a major difference between second-degree murder and first-degree murder,” emphasized community activist Teresa Haley. “Today is a painful day for me and people who look like me… We can’t call the police and feel safe in our own homes.”…
