St. Louis planning to shelter a ‘significant number of people’ this winter

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis city officials are working on plans to provide shelter for “a significant number of people” this winter, according to the mayor’s office.

A spokesperson tells FOX 2 more information on winter shelter plans will be shared at a mayor’s press conference at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Unlike previous years, the city’s plans may include options for residents still displaced by the May 16 tornado. Some affected residents have been living in tents outside their tornado-damaged homes for several months, but that can become an increasingly difficult option when colder weather approaches…
