On November 4, 2025, the St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD), Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT), AARP in St. Louis, and Metro Transit will hold a ribbon-cutting event for two new bus benches in St. Clair County, Illinois.
The event will start at 10 a.m. at MetroBus Stop #12961 in East St. Louis and continue at 11 a.m. at MetroBus Stop #12985 in Cahokia Heights. The benches are part of CMT’s placemaking initiative, ‘The Story of a Bench,’ which seeks to improve comfort and accessibility at local bus stops.
