ST. LOUIS – With an arctic blast hitting the St. Louis area for the next few days, city officials and community organizations have partnered to open emergency shelters around town for unhoused St. Louisans and those whose homes remain uninhabitable due to the May 16 tornado.
“St. Louisans who are unhoused or whose homes were damaged by the tornado deserve a warm place to sleep,” Mayor Cara Spencer said.
