Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, Director of St. Louis Lambert International Airport, will retire in fall 2026. Mayor Cara Spencer announced the decision on November 5, 2025. Hamm-Niebruegge has led the airport since January 2010. Her tenure will last more than fifteen years.
Hamm-Niebruegge managed the airport through several key events. She oversaw recovery after the EF4 tornado in April 2011, which caused $25 million in damage, including to Concourse C. She also helped restore passenger numbers to pre-pandemic levels by summer 2023. Under her leadership, the airport added nonstop international flights to Frankfurt and London.
