ST. LOUIS — Hollywood veteran and independent film trailblazer Robert Townsend is returning to the stage, and to St. Louis, with his deeply personal one-man show Living the Shuffle, performing two shows only this Saturday, November 15, at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center.
Though Townsend’s career has taken him from Chicago to New York to Hollywood, he hasn’t spent much time in St. Louis in recent years. But the city has personal roots.
“My grandfather was, you know, was here… He lived in University City. My aunt Janet is here and she’s coming to the show,” he said. Townsend also shared that he spent his childhood summers in Hannibal, his mother’s hometown, adding, “I was in Hannibal more so than St. Louis.”…
