Passenger sparks panic on United flight forcing emergency landing over ‘bomb in wife’s luggage’

A United Airlines flight en route from Dallas to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing at Lambert St. Louis International Airport in Missouri this morning due to a bomb threat.

Authorities rushed to the scene as soon as the plane touched down, arresting one passenger. According to airport director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, all other passengers were swiftly evacuated from the aircraft.

The flight, which was originally headed for Chicago O’Hare International Airport, had departed from Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport at 6.57 a.m. local time.
