ILLINOIS – Nearly 20 nursing homes and senior care facilities in St. Louis’ Metro East region were recently fined by the Illinois Department of Public Health for violations of state and federal laws.
The fines appeared in IDPH’s second 2025 quarterly report, recently released and covering violations that occurred between April and June.
IDPH said the laws that were violated include the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act and Titles XVII and XIX of the Federal Social Security Act. The IDPH classifies violations — in decreasing severity — as Type AA, A, B and C…
