MISSOURI, (KBSI) — The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has fallen below $3 for the first time in four years, according to AAA. The national average has held at $2.99 since December 2, marking the lowest price point since May 2021.
AAA Missouri reports the statewide average is $2.64 per gallon, five cents lower than a week ago and six cents lower than this time last year. Among major metro areas surveyed, St. Louis drivers are paying the most at $2.75, while motorists in Joplin are paying the least at $2.38 per gallon.
