ST. LOUIS – A teenager who escaped the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center last month is back in custody.
According to a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the 16-year-old escaped county custody on Nov. 24. Because the suspect is a juvenile, no identifying information was released. Authorities did not disclose what the juvenile was in custody for initially.
On Friday, the undercover detectives with the SLMPD’s Anti-Crime Task Force were patrolling the city’s Patch neighborhood and spotted someone attempting to enter several homes. When the detectives attempted to intervene, police said the suspect took off on foot and tossed a firearm.
