GRANITE CITY, Ill. – The man accused of seriously wounding a Granite City police officer last week was charged Monday and could face up to 100 years in Illinois prison if convicted of those charges.
Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine charged D.J. Marshall, 26, with attempted first-degree murder against a police officer, aggravated battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender, and felon in possession of a weapon.
“Those who bring violence to individuals who sign up to serve and protect will face the full force of law in Madison County,” Haine said. “And in this case, we aim to put D.J. Marshall behind bars for the rest of his life.”…
