ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis police officer was taken into custody after prosecutors say he misused his position of authority to harass the mother of his child.
Terrence M. Ruffin, 33, was charged Monday with three counts of first-degree harassment and one count each of misuse of official information by a public servant, fourth-degree domestic assault and first-degree burglary for incidents that authorities said happened in March and July of this year.
Court documents said that in March, Ruffin, an officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, repeatedly called his child’s mother to ask where she was, then tracked her down as she exited Whiskey on Washington, a downtown whiskey bar.
