Police arrest teen who escaped from juvenile center more than a week ago

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) detained on Friday a 16-year-old boy who had escaped from the Division of Youth Services facility since November 24.

Undercover ACTF detectives spotted the juvenile trying to enter several homes by force. The detectives intervened and began a pedestrian stop. The teen tried to flee on foot and discarded a gun.

The gun was later recovered, and the teen was detained. The weapon was a handgun with an extended magazine…
