ST. LOUIS – Dozens of bronze plaques were stolen overnight from a memorial park across the street from the Humane Society of Missouri’s headquarters on Macklind Avenue.
The Carol Gates Throop Memorial Park serves as a place for people to celebrate pets and their humans. Pet owners will leave their pet’s ashes or mementos in the park’s stone columbarium.
Laura Keller, an HSMO spokeswoman, said a thief or thieves took 54 plaques from the park.
