ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man was charged after threatening a neighbor with a pocket knife after accusing them of being too loud while picking up groceries in Ferguson.
According to the Ferguson Police Department, the incident occurred on Dec. 3 involving neighbors that live in the same apartment building.
The incident occurred after Maurice Dortch (age not provided) confronted his neighbor, who lives in the unit above him, for making too much noise while picking up a grocery delivery. Police said the victim attempted to walk away from the incident by going upstairs to his unit but was punched in the back of the head, leading him to drop his groceries and strike Dortch in self-defense.
