St. Louis felon admits to selling firearms in undercover ATF probe

A St. Louis County man who is listed as a registered sex offender admitted Wednesday to repeatedly selling firearms to an undercover agent working for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Antoine Maurice Gant, 39, entered an open plea in federal court in St. Louis to four counts alleging he illegally possessed firearms as a convicted felon. Authorities said the first sale occurred on May 24, 2024, when Gant exchanged a 9mm handgun for $400 during a meeting with the agent in a St. Louis alley. Seven days later, he returned with two additional handguns and sold them to the same undercover operative.

Investigators reported that on June 14, 2024, Gant again met with the agent and provided two more handguns along with cocaine valued at $140. On June 27, 2024, he traveled to East St. Louis and sold an AK-47-style rifle to the agent.
