St. Louis installs mobile sirens to fill gaps while 10 of 60 warning devices remain broken

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Nearly seven months after five people died during a May tornado, the city of St. Louis says it is still working to make sure all of its sirens are operating and upgraded.

At the time of the May 16 tornado, 22 of the 60 sirens didn’t sound. Ten of them are still broken.

The fire department took steps Friday to make sure everyone can hear them no matter when a storm might hit. Though still standing tall, the tornado siren near the 5200 block of West Florissant has stayed silent…
