Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office recently assisted the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Detective Bureau – Homicide Division with the execution of a search warrant in Madison County.
According to the sheriff’s office, the operation was conducted with assistance from the Fredericktown Police Department, Cherokee Pass Fire Department, Madison County Ambulance District, and Madison County 911. Although the suspect in the case was already in custody at a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department facility, investigators obtained a search warrant for evidence believed to have been concealed in a remote area of Madison County. Madison County deputies worked alongside St. Louis homicide detectives to safely and effectively carry out the search.
Authorities say the search warrant was successfully executed and quality evidence was recovered that is expected to aid in the completion of the investigation. Officials emphasized that no crime is believed to have occurred in Madison County, aside from the alleged concealment of evidence. The investigation remains primarily under the jurisdiction of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
