South St. Louis Cricket Store Burglary Ends in Arrest

ST. LOUIS — A man is in custody after police say he smashed his way into a Cricket Wireless store early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Chippewa Street. According to an employee, the man broke a glass door and ripped out security bars to get inside. He then tried to steal several cell phones but was caught before he could escape.

Police recovered all the stolen items and took the suspect to jail. A store representative said the suspect was arrested quickly on Christmas Eve. Officers cleared the scene shortly after the arrest…
