ST. LOUIS, Mo. (WIBW) – A 40-year-old Topeka man has died after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle late Tuesday while he was a pedestrian on a St. Louis highway, officials said.
The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately available, suffered fatal injuries in the crash, which was reported around 10:29 p.m. Tuesday on westbound Interstate 70 at Missouri Highway 115, near Natural Bridge Road. The crash occurred just south of St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the fatality victim was a pedestrian who was in the roadway when he was struck by a 2001 Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle.
Fire personnel who responded to the scene pronounced the man dead at the scene at 10:46 p.m. Tuesday…
