ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Nearly 52,000 people in St. Louis live in pharmacy deserts, according to new research from a collaboration between a local pharmacy, the City of St. Louis Health Department and Washington University School of Medicine.
The study found that about 17% of the city’s population lives more than a mile away from a pharmacy, or more than half a mile away in areas where at least 20% of residents lack access to transportation.
