St. Louis Police Search for Suspect After Downtown Shooting Leaves Victim Hospitalized

District 4 detectives are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a downtown shooting that occurred on December 21, 2025. According to details published on the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department website, the incident took place at Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and North 10th Street, just before 8:30 p.m., leaving a 24-year-old man injured from gunshot wounds. SLMPD reports that the victim was found inside a vehicle, quickly attended to by EMS, and transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The shooting unfolded when the man, suffering gunshot wounds, was driving and heard the sound of gunfire, pain following as he realized he had been hit. After receiving a call for a shooting, officers arrived at the scene inside a vehicle that were in.

Investigations by the police have resulted in the release of a photograph of the suspect they are seeking. The man is described as a young black male with a thin build and medium-length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a jacket/coat with a distinctive design. This individual was reported to be a passenger in what is believed to be a 2012 silver Mazda 3 with notable black rims and damage to the front driver’s side fender.
