UPDATE: Stray pup shot multiple times rescued by St. Louis police officers meet again for heartwarming reunion

Stray Rescue of St. Louis had not expected to be ringing in the New Year with more gun violence. Early New Year’s Day morning, officers were called to a scene where a dog was found to have been shot at least two times.

Officer Ottengheime and Officer Stevens rushed the dog to the rescue, carefully carried him in and quickly fell in love. The dog was named Wallace. There he was – shot twice and still standing. No doubt Wallace survived against all odds; he had no broken bones. His worst injury from the bullets had been a broken tooth. Surgery would follow for an extraction.

And now – just a few days after Wallace’s rescue and miraculous recovery, the two officers who saved him, Officer Ottengheime and Officer Stevens returned to Stray Rescue of St. Louis to find out how the dog was doing…
