Illinois state trooper shoots, kills woman who drove at trooper

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – An Illinois state trooper shot and killed a Maryville woman late Sunday evening in East St. Louis.

According to a spokesperson for the Illinois State Police, the shooting happened just before 10:10 p.m. near a convenience store in the 4500 block of State Street.

State troopers located a reported stolen vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop when the driver put the vehicle in reverse and struck an ISP squad car.
